Phoenix in Flight · Radiant Red Liuli Sculpture
Where Grace Meets the Sky.
I CARRY MY OWN LIGHT
In Chinese culture, the phoenix has long been regarded as an auspicious symbol of grace, harmony, nobility and renewal. Radiant red adds another layer of meaning — joy, vitality, celebration and the warmth of life in full expression.
Yet this phoenix is not simply waiting for good fortune to arrive.
With wings rising toward the sky and flowing feathers illuminated by the light, it carries the presence of something already awakened — confident, alive and ready to move beyond where it once stood.
我本自有光,何必去追光。
I was born with light of my own. Why should I chase another?
She does not rise in search of light. She rises because the light was always within her.
There is confidence in that thought, but not arrogance. It is the quiet certainty of knowing who you are, recognizing what already lives within you, and no longer measuring your path by someone else’s brightness.
The phoenix does not wait to be illuminated. She rises carrying her own light.
RISE WITH COURAGE
Renewal does not always mean beginning again from nothing. Sometimes it is the moment we finally recognize the strength that has been within us all along — and choose to use it.
The upward movement of this phoenix captures that moment. The wings are no longer folded. The body is no longer still. There is direction, intention and the unmistakable energy of ascent.
She has somewhere higher to go.
Spread your wings not because the road has always been easy, but because there is still a sky worth reaching for.
FOR DESIGNERS & INTERIOR STYLING
The Radiant Red Phoenix brings strong vertical movement and sculptural energy to an interior. Its upward silhouette naturally draws the eye, while the translucent red Liuli allows the piece to remain luminous rather than visually heavy.
Consider it for an entry console, study, executive office, reception area or statement table, as well as within hotel lobbies, hospitality interiors, galleries and refined residential spaces where a sense of aspiration, vitality and auspicious presence is desired.
Natural daylight reveals variations in transparency and color throughout the feathers. Under warmer ambient or directional lighting, the red deepens and the phoenix takes on a richer, more dramatic presence.
THE ART OF LIULI
Created through an intricate lost-wax casting process, each piece begins with its own mold. After the wax is removed and the Liuli undergoes high-temperature forming, the outer mold must be broken away before the piece can be carefully refined, ground, and polished.
One mold. One piece.
COLORS WITHIN THE LIULI
The colors are not painted onto the finished surface.
They are formed within the Liuli during the high-temperature process, becoming part of the material itself. As light passes through different colors and depths of Liuli, variations of radiant red, deeper tones and transparency reveal the sculptural layers of the phoenix feathers and flowing form.
Because of this process, small variations may appear from piece to piece. Subtle natural bubbles and gentle flowing patterns may also appear within the Liuli. These are characteristic of the making process and contribute to the individual character of each piece, rather than being considered defects.
君本梧桐,鳳凰自來
Become the place where greatness belongs, and the phoenix will find its way to you.
There are blessings we pursue, and there are blessings that arrive because of who we have become.
When we cultivate character, strength and grace within ourselves, we become like the Wutong tree — a place worthy of the phoenix.
Good fortune may then appear in many forms: an unexpected opportunity, a meaningful encounter, a helping hand, a kindred spirit, or simply the right door opening at the right moment.
Some blessings are not meant to be chased. They arrive when we have become ready to receive them.
Perhaps that is another lesson of the phoenix: cultivate what is worthy within yourself, carry your own light, and allow what truly belongs in your life to find its way to you.
PHOENIX IN FLIGHT
我本自有光,何必去追光。
君本梧桐,鳳凰自來。
Rise with courage.
Carry your own light.
And let what belongs to you find its way home.
Rise again. Fly higher. Let the next horizon be yours.
