January Orchid Blossom · Li Qingzhao
Clear as morning light and graceful as an orchid, January begins with Li Qingzhao — one of the most celebrated women poets in Chinese history.
Her world was filled with poetry, flowers, fragrance, and wine. In her writing, a cup of wine could hold many moods — the lightness of youth, the warmth of companionship, the quiet of solitude, and the thoughts that arrive when the world grows still.
Perhaps that is why the orchid feels so naturally connected to her.
Elegant without display and fragrant without asking for attention, the orchid has long carried a sense of refinement and quiet character. In this sculptural Liuli piece, translucent blue petals unfold around a petite wine cup, like a flower opening gently in the light.
Pour in a little wine, and another kind of beauty begins.
A clear spirit catches the cool blue of the petals. A golden wine brings warmth into the flower. Different colors, different evenings, different moods — yet the ritual can remain wonderfully simple.
Not every glass is meant for a celebration.
Sometimes, one small pour is enough.
A flower before you.
A little wine in your hand.
A poem somewhere in the heart.
For a quiet evening alone, a conversation between friends, or simply a moment when you want the day to slow down, this January Orchid reminds us that pleasure does not have to be extravagant.
Like Li Qingzhao’s poetry, some of life’s most beautiful moments can live in very small things — a flower, a fragrance, a few words, and a little wine.
FOR DESIGNERS & INTERIOR STYLING
With its translucent blue and fresh green Liuli and sculptural orchid form, this piece brings a serene, poetic presence to residential, hospitality, and curated interior spaces. Its petite scale makes it especially suitable for a bar cart, dining setting, console, bedside table, bookshelf, reading space, hotel interior, hospitality suite, gallery setting, or decorative display.
Natural or ambient light passing through the translucent Liuli reveals subtle shifts of blue, green, transparency, and depth across the layered petals. Its cool, luminous palette pairs naturally with wood, stone, glass, and restrained neutral materials, allowing the piece to move gracefully between functional wine vessel and sculptural decorative object.
THE ART OF LIULI
Created through an intricate lost-wax casting process, each piece begins with its own mold. After the wax is removed and the Liuli undergoes high-temperature forming, the outer mold must be broken away before the piece can be carefully refined, ground, and polished.
One mold. One piece.
COLORS WITHIN THE LIULI
The colors are not painted onto the finished surface.
They are formed within the Liuli during the high-temperature process, becoming part of the material itself. As light passes through different colors and depths of Liuli, subtle variations in transparency and tone reveal the sculptural layers of the orchid petals.
When wine or a favorite spirit is poured into the petite cup, another layer of color enters the composition. A clear spirit preserves the cool luminosity of the orchid, while a golden or ruby-toned drink can bring an entirely different warmth and mood to the flower.
Because of this process, small variations may appear from piece to piece. Subtle natural bubbles and gentle flowing patterns may also appear within the Liuli. These are characteristic of the making process and contribute to the individual character of each piece, rather than being considered defects.
A LITTLE RITUAL OF YOUR OWN
Pour a little wine. Let the light pass through the flower. Sit with a book, listen to music, share a quiet conversation, or simply enjoy a few unhurried minutes of your own.
The vessel may hold a drink, but the moment it creates can hold something more — a pause, a little beauty, and a reminder that ordinary evenings deserve to be enjoyed too.
A blossom for the eyes. A little wine for the soul.
